Academy Award nominee James Cromwell, has fairly recently joined a protest led by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) in New York, wherein the activist actor superglued his hand to the counter of a Starbucks store as a means to protest the company’s rise in prices of vegan products.

The stunt was proudly shared by PETA in a series of posts on social media, where the Babe and Star Trek actor can be seen with his right hand glued to the store’s counter and wearing a T-shirt with the caption “Free the Animals” whilst holding a sign that reads “Starbucks: end the vegan upcharge.”

This is how you get an animal rights message to STICK!

“We’re STICKING it to Starbucks!” proudly touted the animal rights organisation on Twitter. “James Cromwell and PETA activists showed up for cows exploited in the dairy industry by supergluing themselves to a Starbucks counter to demand the company drop the vegan milk upcharge!”

PETA proudly shared on social media that police had arrived at the midtown Manhattan Starbucks, writing, “Police arrived at the scene where actor James Cromwell and other activists superglued themselves to the counter at a Starbucks in [New York City].”

A Starbucks spokesperson addressed the stunt performed by PETA and the activist actor, declaring, “Customers can customize any beverage on the menu with a non-dairy milk, including soymilk, coconutmilk, almondmilk, and oatmilk for an additional cost (similar to other beverage customizations such as an additional espresso shot or syrup). Pricing varies market by market.”

As a lifelong animal rights activist, Cromwell’s run-in with the police is only one of many. In December of 2015, the I, Robot actor was arrested for blocking the entrance to the Competitive Power Ventures power plant in New York.

According to reports at the time, the actor was leading a group of 30 protesters and fervently chanting “Power to the people! Power to the people!” before the police took him into custody and later sentenced to spend 7 days in jail.

In October of 2019, the woke actor was arrested during a protest in Texas at Texas A&M University’s Board of Regents meeting as he and other members of PETA called for the school to shut down a research laboratory where dogs are used in clinical trials.

Cromwell was also arrested back in July of 2001, alongside six other PETA activists, during a protest at a Wendy’s restaurant located in Vienna, Virginia, where the actor and his fellow protesters allegedly encouraged clients to take their business elsewhere.

“After Babe, people recognised that pigs and other animals abused on factory farms are sensitive, gentle animals. It is high time that big corporations like Wendy’s stopped treating these wonderful animals like meat machines,” declared Cromwell after his arrest.

In 2018 the woke left-wing actor labelled Donald Trump’s presidency as ‘pure fascism’ and incited a ‘revolution,’ calling for “blood on the streets” if the then-president wasn’t stopped.

During an interview with Variety, Cromwell said, “This is nascent fascism. We always had a turnkey, totalitarian state — all we needed was an excuse, and all the institutions were in place to turn this into pure fascism.”

“If we don’t stop [President Trump] now, then we will have a revolution for real. Then there will be blood in the streets,” the actor seemingly threatened.

Further, the actor doubled-down on his call for a bloody revolution. “We’re living in very curious times, and something is coming up which is desperately important to this country and to this planet, and that is an election, in which hopefully in some measure we are going to take back our democracy,” said the actor during his Carney Award acceptance speech.

“We will have a government that represents us and not the donor class. We will cut through the corruption, [and] we won’t have to do what comes next, which is either a non-violent revolution or a violent one, because this has got to end,” Cromwell concluded.
