Producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller recently show up at CinemaCon during the Sony Pictures presentation to share a lot of cool and exciting details about their animated Spider-Verse franchise!
They showed off the first 15-minutes of footage for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, which you can read about here and they revealed that it’s going to be so much bigger than the first film as it will feature 240 characters and the story will span 6 different universes. Also, they have a team of over 1000 people working on the film!
The movie is so big that they had to split it into two films, and they revealed that the other film in the franchise will be titled Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse.
The movie is directed by Joaquim Dos Santos (Avatar: The Last Airbender), Kemp Powers (Soul), and Justin K. Thompson (Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse). Phil Lord and Chris Miller also co-wrote the screenplay alongside David Callaham (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Tend Rings). The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on March 29th, 2024.
